On Thursday, the prisoners in wards 7 and 9 in Tabriz prison, protested and rioted against denial of their right for being granted a furlough and refusal of the authorities to enforce the Amnesty Directive following the Covid-19 epidemic, as well as lack of quarantine rules for newcomers. Tabriz prison is now surrounded by security forces and all roads leading to Tabriz prison are blocked and gunfire is still heard from inside the prison.
