Iranian police chief threatens election boycotters

Breathing in Confinement: The commander of the Iranian police force said: “People who invite others to boycott the elections will be dealt with.”

Hossein Ashtari called the people who ask the others “not to participate in the elections,” as “norm-breakers” and said: “The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, in his meeting with the members of the parliament, specifically mentioned to everyone’s duties, so according to the law, the police and the judiciary deal with anyone who “invites the people boycott the presidential election.”

Earlier, some citizens who had criticized the head of the judiciary, Ibrahim Ra’isi, one of the presidential election candidates, were threatened by security entities.
