Mohammad Eini transferred to Rasht prison

Breathing in Confinement: Mohammad Eini, living in Rasht, was transferred to the city’s prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, through a phone call to his relatives, Mohammad Eini announced that he had been transferred to Rasht Prison.

On Saturday, January 22, Mohammad Eini was summoned over the phone, to the Rasht Intelligence Office where he was arrested.

Mohammad Eini had previously also been detained. He was detained by security forces in Rasht in October 2021, during the widespread uprisings in various cities in the provinces of Azerbaijan as well as other areas where Tork speaking people live. He was later released on bail awaiting the trial.

In February of last year, Mr. Eini was tried in Branch 12 of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht on charges of acting against national security and propaganda against the regime. He however, was finally acquitted by the court.
