Prisoner Executed in Shushtar Prison

Breathing in Confinement, Sunday, 19 July 2025: The death sentence of at least one prisoner who had previously been arrested on a murder charge and sentenced to death was carried out in Shushtar Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Shushtar Prison at dawn on Wednesday, 15 July. The prisoner has been identified by Breathing in Confinement as Amin Khedri Mir Ghaed.
According to the report, Amin Khedri Mir Ghaed, a 28-year-old Bakhtiari man from the Babadi tribe, was arrested four years ago on a murder charge and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary. His death sentence was carried out in Shushtar Prison in the early hours of Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

At the time of publication, no official sources had announced the execution of this prisoner.
Annual report on executions in Iran
According to the annual report of the Statistical Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, between March 2025 and March 2026, at least 2,616 individuals were executed in Iran. Of these, 12 executions were carried out in public. The executed individuals included 67 women and 8 juvenile offenders.
