Retired teacher Nosrat Beheshti released on bail

Breathing in Confinement: Nosrat Beheshti, a retired teacher and political activist, was released from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, on bail of one billion Tomans. Ms. Beheshti had been arrested on August 4, 2021.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Nosrat Beheshti, a retired teacher and political activist, was released from Vakilabad prison in Mashhad on a 1 billion toman bail.

Nosrat Beheshti was arrested by security forces at her home in Mashhad on August 4, 2021.

In the month of November, she was sentenced by Branch 4 of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad, headed by Judge Mansouri, to five years in prison on charges such as “propaganda against the regime” as well as “acting against national security.”
