Breathing in Confinement: On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Samaneh Asghari, a student at Kharazmi University, was transferred to Evin Prison to serve her sentence.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Wednesday, April 3, Samaneh Asghari was transferred to Evin Prison to serve her sentence.

According to a statement released by Ismaeil Nazari, Mrs. Asghari’s husband, on Wednesday, April 3, after her referral to Rey Courthouse, Mrs. Asghari’s one-year prison sentence was implemented and she was transferred to Evin Prison.

Samaneh Asghari was arrested by security forces at her home in Tehran in September 2023 and was released on bail after spending twenty days in Qarchak Varamin Prison. In December of the same year, she was sentenced to one year in prison by Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court and the verdict was confirmed by the Tehran Provincial Court of Appeals.
