Shakila Monfared receives a prison sentence and a fine

Breathing in Confinement:  In a new case filed against Shakila Monfared, a political prisoner in Qarchak prison in Varamin, the Revolutionary Court in Tehran sentenced her to two years and eight months in prison and paying a fine of ten million tomans.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Shakila Monfared, a political prisoner in Qarchak prison in Varamin, was sentenced to imprisonment and fined for the case brought against her while in jail.

According to the verdict issued by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, Ms. Monfared was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison on charges of membership in opposition groups and to pay a fine of 10 million Tomans for spreading lies.
