Breathing in Confinement: On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, two prisoners sentenced to death for drug-related charges were hanged in Saveh Prison.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, two prisoners were executed at dawn on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Saveh Prison. The executed prisoners had been charged with drug-related charges.
They have been identified as Hossein Bagharpour, born in 1985, and Milad Badrkhani, 25, who had been arrested and sentenced to death in 2019 on charges of carrying and possessing narcotics.
So far, non of the state media have reported the news of the execution of these two prisoners.
According to the latest report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 516 executions have been carried out during the first year presidency of Ebrahim Raisi in Iran, of which only 39 executions have been reported by the state media.
