Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Thursday, January 23, 2025, the execution of at least one prisoner, who had been arrested on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death, was carried out in Saveh Prison. According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Thursday, January 23, the execution of Mohammad Beiranvand Sarami, a prisoner sentenced to death on charges of “murder,” was carried out in Saveh Prison.

Mohammad Beiranvand Sarami, son of Seyed Vali, was married and a resident of Zahidshir village, a rural district of Khorramabad. In June of the previous year, he was shot by law enforcement officers during a chase after being suspected of smuggling goods. While fleeing the scene, due to poor visibility, he unintentionally caused the death of a police officer named Rasoul Mahdavipour.

Earlier, Mizan News Agency had reported the execution of the “killer of Rasoul Mahdavipour,” a police officer, without disclosing the identity of Mohammad Beiranvand Sarami.
