Execution of Four Baloch Prisoners in Zahedan Prison

Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Sunday, 15 December 2024, the death sentences of four prisoners who had been previously arrested and sentenced to execution on charges related to “drug offenses” were carried out in Zahedan Central Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, four prisoners were executed at dawn on Sunday, December 15, in Zahedan Prison on drug related charges. The identities of the prisoners have been confirmed as Elias Shahouzehi, Alireza Galeh Bacheh, Yaqoub Barahouei Moghadam, and Mohammad Wazir Roudini.
As per the Breathing in Confinement reporter, citing a source close to Elias Shahouzehi (also known as Ilya Tardast), the 22-year-old was the son of Jahangir, a resident of Zahedan, and the father of a two-year-old child. He had been arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. His family had their final visit with him yesterday.
Additionally, according to the human rights organization Haalvsh, Alireza Galeh Bacheh, a 37-year-old married man with three children from Zabol; Yaqoub Barahouei Moghadam, a married resident of Safidabeh village in Nimruz County; and Mohammad Roudini, a 45-year-old married man with four children from Zahedan, who lacked an official birth certificate, had also been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. Their sentences were carried out at dawn today, Sunday, December 15, in Zahedan Prison.
