Breathing in Confinement: On Saturday, May 6, the state media announced the execution of Habib Farajullah Tchaab, an Arab political prisoner and a dual Iranian-Swedish citizen.
According to “Breathing in Confinement” quoting Mizan news agency, on Monday, May 6, 2023, the death sentence of Habib Farajullah Tchaab, known as Habib Osayvad, an Ahwazi Arab political activist citizen of Sweden, was executed. The news agency does not mention the place of execution of this political prisoner.
According to this report, the charge of this political prisoner is “corruption on earth through the formation, management and leadership of a group called ‘Harakat al-Nidal al-Arabi for Tahrir al-Ahwaz’ and planning and implementing terrorist operations and destruction of public property through various operations.”
Habib Tchaab was kidnapped and taken to Iran with the help of an international drug gang in October 2020. He was interrogated in an unfair, non-transparent and extrajudicial process. Broadcasting his forced confession, and the fact that he did not have the right to appoint his own lawyer, confirms the extrajudicial process of the execution of this Iranian-Swedish citizen.
The Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, condemning this criminal execution, warns the member states of the European Union and especially the government of Sweden that if they do not show a proper reaction to this criminal murder, the lives of other foreign citizens, especially other dual citizens, who have been taken hostage by the authorities of the Islamic Republic will be in grve danger.
It needs to be mentioned that in January 2023, the Islamic Republic executed another dual citizen named Alireza Akbari on charges of spying for the UK.
