A journalist begins to serve his imprisonment sentence in Tabriz

Breathing in Confinement – Hamid Zare Mohammadi, blogger and journalist, went to Tabriz Prison to serve his imprisonment sentence.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, he went to branch 2 of enforcement of Tabriz Judiciary today, July 17th and was transferred to the Central Prison of Tabriz.

Hamid Zare Mohammadi was arrested on August 12, 2013 at his house and kept in the solitary confinements of the detention center of the intelligence of Tabriz for 7 days.

Then, he was transferred to the quarantine of the Central Prison of Tabriz and released on the bail of 200 million Rials after 3 days.

The security forces took his PC, books and articles while arresting him.

He has been sentenced to 6 months in prison which is suspended for 2 years, 40 lashes and 200 thousand fine on charge of supporting an opposition group by the branch number 3 of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz as well as 1 year in prison on charge of blasphemy by branch 112 of the Criminal Court of Tabriz.

Hamid Zare Mohammadi has been working in Shargh and Etemad newspapers.
