4 Labor Activists Arrested in Tehran and Mahabad

Breathing in Confinement – Following the increasing pressures on labor activists on the eve of International Workers’ Day, 4 labor activists were arrested in Tehran and Saghez.

According to the report of “Breathing in a Confinement”, on 28th April this year, Mahmoud Salehi and Osman Esmaili in Saghez city and Davoud Razavi and Ebrahim Madadi in Tehran have been arrested and transferred to an unknown location.

According to reports, at 6 pm on 28th April, security forces went to Mahmoud Salehi’s home, a member of the Coordinating Committee to Help Form Workers’ Organizations in Saghez, arrested him and took him along with his computer and his other personal stuff to an unknown location.

At the same time, security agents went to the workplace of Osman Esmaili, another member of the Coordinating Committee and spokesperson of the Committee for Defending the Imprisoned Workers in Mahabad, and arrested him, too.

On the other hand, in Tehran, security forces went to the house of Ebrahim Madadi and Davoud Razavi, 2 members of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, and arrested them at 8 pm and after searching them and their houses, took them to an unknown location.

It is noteworthy that in recent days, and on the eve of International Workers’ Day, security pressures on labor activists have increased and many of these activists were summoned or arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence.
