Despite positive Covid-19 tests, Behnam Moosivand and Jafar Azimzadeh were transferred to solitary confinement in Rajai Shahr Prison

Breathing in Confinement: Behnam Moosivand and Jafar Azimzadeh, two political prisoners who had been transferred to Rajai Shahr Prison under the pretext of being admitted to Evin Prison Medical Center, were transferred to solitary confinement in Rajai Shahr Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Monday, September 7, two political prisoners, Behnam Moosivand and Jafar Azimzadeh, were transferred to solitary confinement where lacks any requirement for providing medical care. This is while the excuse of this transmission is their positive Covid-19 test. Both prisoners have been on a hunger strike in recent days to protest their illegal transfer from Evin Prison to solitary confinement.

Breathing in Confinement had earlier published a report on the condition of Behnam Moosivand in Evin Prison as well as his transfer to Rajai Shahr Prison.

On Monday, September 7, 2020, Jafar Azimzadeh, labor activist, and Behnam Moosivand, civil activist prisoners, were transferred to solitary confinement in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj, on the pretext of a positive Covid-19 test. Both prisoners had previously gone on a hunger strike to protest their solitary confinement.
