Five Kulbars were killed or wounded in border areas

Breathing in Confinement – On Tuesday, December 17, two Kulbars (workers who carry goods across the borders on their back) were shot and wounded in Sardasht and Piranshahr border areas. On December 14 also, in Oshnavieh border area, another Kulbar was shot dead by military forces. Earlier, on December 12 and 13, two other Kulbars were also wounded in the border areas Marivan and Piranshahr. In addition, 3 other Kulbars who were either dead, injured or went missing in the cold and blizzard in Marivan border highlands were as well identified.
According to the Kurdistan Center for Democracy and Human Rights, on Tuesday, December 17, two Kulbars, named Hedayat Mahmoudi, in the border areas of Sardasht and Ali Saberi in Piranshahr were wounded being shot by Revolutionary Guards.
On Saturday night, December 24, also a Kulbar was shot dead in the border areas of Oshnavieh.
The killed Kulbar was identified as “Aziz Maroufi, son of Hossein from the village of Bimzartah in Oshnavieh.
On Monday, December 2 also, in the border area of Marivan another Kulbar, Yaqub Rezai, was seriously wounded being shot by border security forces.
Furthermore on Tuesday, December 3, in the border area of Piranshahr, a group of Kulbars were attacked by Revolutionary Guards using firearms and one of them named Jalal Khaledi from the County of Mahabad was severely injured.
