After 14 years in prison, Mohammad Ali Mansouri goes on leave

Breathing in Confinement: On September 9, after spending 14 years in prison, the political prisoner Mohammad Ali Mansouri, was granted a leave on bail from Rajai Shahr Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on September 9, 2021, for the first time after 14 years in prison, the political prisoner Mohammad Ali Mansouri, was granted a leave on bail from Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj. His leave period has been announced as lasting ten days.
On September 2, after developing a heart attack and given his deteriorating condition, Mr. Mansouri was transferred to Rajai Hospital in Karaj and was tied to bed with shackles.
Mr. Mansouri had not applied for leave, and on September 9, 2021, in a meeting with judiciary officials, he protested the continuation of his unjust imprisonment.
Mohammad Ali Mansouri was arrested in September 2007, after attending the 19th anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners in 1988.
He was then sentenced by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge Abolghasem Salavati, to 17 years in prison, deportation to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj, and a fine of 150,000 Tomans, on charge of “having link and cooperating with the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization.”
In May 2018 while in prison, a new case was opened against Mr. Mansouri for which he was sentenced to five more years in prison on pretext of being active inside the prison and the charge of “conspiracy against the regime.”
