Breathing in Confinement: on the occasion of the ongoing uprisings in various cities in Iran, in a letter, the political prisoner, Maryam Akbari Monfared, supported the Iranian people.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Maryam Akbari Monfared, a political prisoner imprisoned in Semnan prison, supported the people’s uprising. She wrote: “The whole Iran is crying for freedom. They shout: “We do not want this oppressive and fascist government”.

Breathing in Confinement publishes the full text of her letter:

The whole Iran cries out for their stolen freedom.

The whole Iran says the same thing: “We don’t want this oppressive and fascist government.” The Iranian people have never been so sure of their words! After passing through the sea of the blood of their loved ones, the people of Iran are now rising from their own ashes. With confidence and faith the Iranian people are determined to burn the roots of oppression and darkness.

The whole Iran is crying out for freedom. Deceptions, conspiracies and repressions no longer work. Despite the pain and sorrow I feel for losing our martyrs from Amol to Zahedan, I am proud of the fearlessness and courage of the Iranian people.

Our people have passed through the gallows, repressions, bloodsheds, massacres, graves and tombstones as well as Covid-19 have now risen again… once again the pulse of life is beating…

The voice of people is eternal and is echoing from Iran to all parts of the world… The people of Iran are going to conquer tomorrow through their new revolution.

I say to the oppressed people of Iran, to brave girls, men and women, brave students, honorable professors, and teachers: I know that you are fearlessly marching towards freedom… Your cry explodes the structure of a 43-year-old dictatorship… be aware that I am by your side, step by step in every scene! From the prison to the street, our struggle is tightly interlinked. Every drops your blood will accumulate and turns into a massive flood that breaks the bridges in front of the dictators…

Victory is in our angry fists

Tomorrow is ours
