Breathing in Confinement: On Saturday, March 12, 2022, the former political prisoner, Mehrdad Mohammadnejad, was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the former political prisoner, Mehrdad Mohammadnejad, was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.
Mr. Mohammadnejad had previously been sentenced to 3 years in prison on charges of insulting the government officials as well as propaganda activities against the regime. As per the rules, two years of his sentence was applicable. He however, was released on parole after serving part of his sentence.
Security agents raided the home of Mehrdad Mohammadnejad’s father, searched the place, confiscated Mehrdad’s personal belongings, such as a mobile phone, and then arrested him.
As of this writing, no information is available on the reasons for Mr. Mohammadnejad’s detention, his charges, or his whereabouts .
