Unlawful transfer of Amir Chamani to the Revolutionary Guards’ Detention Center

Breathing in Confinement: Amir Chamani, a political activist from Tabriz, who was arrested by FATA police on April 2, has been transferred to the IRGC’s intelligence service.
Amir Chamani was arrested by FATA police on Thursday on charges of spreading lies, Breathing in Confinement reported.
He was transferred to Tabriz Central Prison on bail order of 80 million tomans. Last night, however, in an absolutely illegal attempt by the IRGC’s intelligence service, he was transferred from prison to the Revolutionary Guards’ Detention Center.
Previously also on January 4, 2013, he had been detained by the agents of the Ministry of Intelligence at his home in Tabriz. Later, on July 6, 2013, he was sentenced to imprisonment and flogging by Tabriz Revolutionary Court, on charges of “insulting the leader and founder of the Islamic Republic” and “propaganda activities against the regime”. He was released in October 2013 after serving his one year sentence in Tabriz prison.
