Breathing in Confinement: In addition to Hossein Kheiri, the political prisoner who has been sentenced to death, his seven co-defendants Majid Kahrari, Fardin Asgari, Nima Heidari, Milad Karami, Mahmoud Karami, as well as two other citizens have been sentenced to a total of 34 years and 6 months in prison by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran. These political prisoners were arrested in the spring of 2020.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Majid Kahrari, Fardin Asgari, Nima Heidari, Milad Karami, Mahmoud Karami and two other defendants, have been sentenced to prison by the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.
Majid Kahrari and Fardin Asgari have been sentenced to 7 years in prison, Nima Heidari to 6 years, and Milad Karami, Mahmoud Karami as well as another citizen each have been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison. Another citizen also has been sentenced to 4 years suspended imprisonment. The hearing on the charges of these prisoners was held in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, chaired by Iman Afshari.
It should be noted that Hossein Kheiri, a 32-year-old political prisoner who is a construction worker and father of a 5-year-old child, has been sentenced to death for “Moharebeh (fighting with God) through vandalism.”
