Execution of a Prisoner in Qezelhesar Prison

Breathing in Confinement, Tuesday, 28 July 2026: The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested on a murder charge and sentenced to death, was carried out in Qezelhesar Prison.

According to reporters from Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Qezelhesar Prison in the early hours of Wednesday, 22 July. The prisoner’s identity has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Akbar Parchegani.

According to the report, Akbar Parchegani, a 33-year-old man from Shahriar, had previously been arrested on a murder charge and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary. His sentence was carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, 22 July 2026, in Qezelhesar Prison.
