Breathing in Confinement – A number of Azerbaijani civil activists have been arrested by police forces at Sabalan hillside.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, some civil activists from Ardebil and other cities were going to Sabalan as previous years on August 15th, however the police forces arrested most of them on the way.

Some of them who could go to the Sabalan hillside were arrested there afterwards.

According to the reports they have been arrested violently.

The security forces have broken their mobile phones, too.

The arrested activists were kept at the detention center of Meshkin Shahr police station and have been transferred to the revolutionary court of Meshkin Shahr, today August 16th. They have been charged with spreading propaganda against the regime at the court.

The judge has threatened them that they are going to be sentenced to long term imprisonments.

The activists have announced that they will not put bail and are going to go on hunger strike.

The arrested activists are identified as: Rahim Gholami, Aydin Zakeri, Meysam Jolani, Jafar Rostami Rad, Said Hosseini, Hamid Ghovati, Habib Negahban, Isa Azizi, Hasan Jolani and Reza Ghomi.
