Breathing in Confinement: On Thursday, May 18, 2022, the death sentence of a prisoner arrested for the murder of a police officer was carried out in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Thursday, May 18, 2022, a prisoner was executed in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan for the murder of a police officer. Breathing in Confinement has identified the prisoner as Ahmad Gashoul, the son of Yar Ali, living in Isfahan.
Ahmad Gashoul was accused of having been involved (collaborating with four other people) in helping the escape of two sentenced to death prisoners while being transferred from court to Isfahan prison which led to the murder of a NAJA officer named Mahmoud Rafiei.
The death sentence of this prisoner was carried out in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan on Thursday, May 18, 2022, two years after his sentence was issued.
According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 383 prisoners were executed in Iran during the past year (March 20, 2021 to March 20, 2022) of them, only 34 were reported by the state media, and the rest were carried out in secret.
