Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Sunday, November 24, 2024, the death sentence of a female prisoner who had previously been arrested on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death was carried out in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least one prisoner was executed in Khorramabad Prison on Sunday, November 24, 2024, on charges of “murder.” The identity of the prisoner, Fariba Maleki Shahivand, a mother of a 5-year-old daughter, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.

As reported by Breathing in Confinement, Fariba Maleki Shahivand, the daughter of Noorollah and a member of the Shahivand tribe, was from Cham Dashti village in the Shahivand district. Four years ago, during a family dispute, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law were unintentionally killed. Fariba was accused of the murders and arrested. Despite being the mother of his 5-year-old daughter, her husband, who was considered the blood owner of the victims, refused to pardon his wife. The sentence against Fariba Maleki Shahivand was carried out on Sunday, November 24, in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

Her body was burried in the cemetery of Cham village in the Shahivand district, with a large number of people in attendance. Reports indicate that the residents of the village unanimously testified to her innocence.
