Amir Chamani is arrested after being summoned by a phone call

Breathing in Confinement: Amir Chamani, a political activist from Tabriz, was summoned and arrested on Thursday, April 2.

This activist has been summoned and arrested by FATA police. The reason for his arrest, however, is yet to be known, Breathing in Confinement reported.

The last time he had been arrested was in August 2018 by IRGC intelligence agents in Tabriz. When he was sentenced to six months in prison by the Revolutionary Court on charges of “propaganda activities against the regime for the benefit of anti-regime groups.”

He had also been detained by the agents of the Ministry of Intelligence at his home in Tabriz on January 4, 2013. Later on July 6, 2013, by Tabriz Revolutionary Court, he was sentenced to imprisonment and flogging on charges of “insulting the leader and founder of the Islamic Republic” and “propaganda activities against the regime”. He was released in October 2013 after serving his one year sentence in Tabriz prison.
