Breathing in Confinement: On Sunday, September 12, on the eve of the anniversary of the execution of Navid Afkari, Saeed Afkari, Navid’s brother, was arrested at the entrance to Shiraz, after being beaten by the plainclothes agents and taken to an unknown location.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Sunday, September 12, at Quran Gate in Shiraz, Saeed Afkari, Navid Afkari’s brother, was arrested by six plainclothes agents and taken to an unknown location.
On September 11, Mr Afkari tweeted that his family had been under pressure by security forces who were trying to prevent them from holding the anniversary of Navid’s execution. After posting the tweet, Mr. Afkari’s account became unavailable.
Navid Afkari, an Iranian wrestler, was executed at dawn on Saturday, September 12, 2020, in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz, despite serious ambiguities in his case and disregarding the worldwide support for him.
