Detention of at least 9 Baha’i citizens in Baharestan city in Isfahan

Breathing in Confinement: On April 25, in a raid by security forces on the homes of 14 Baha’i families, at least nine were arrested. After searching the homes of these citizens, security officers confiscated their personal belongings, including laptops, cell phones, books and pamphlets related to the Baha’i faith.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least nine Baha’is were arrested on April 25 in Baharestan City in Isfahan. The arrested Baha’i citizens have been identified as: Maryam Khorsandi, Sara Shakib, Firoozeh Rastinejad, Sanaz Rasteh, Azita Rezvani, Mojgan Pourshafi, Nasrin Khademi, Afshin Vajdani and Noushin Hemmat.
The searches of other citizens’ homes began on the same day at around 6 a.m. and lasted until about 1 p.m. which in most cases were with violence. Officers reportedly broke in a home whose occupants were away at the time of attack.
