Security agents search the homes of at least 30 Baha’i citizens, confiscate their personal belongings, and arrest at least 7

Breathing in Confinement: On July 31, security forces raided the homes of at least 30 Baha’i citizens in the cities of Karaj, Tehran, Sari, Qazvin and Shiraz. The agents searched their homes and seized their electronic devices along with their other personal belongings. In addition, security agents arrested 7 Baha’i citizens and transferred them to an unknown place.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on July 31, 2022, security forces raided the homes of Baha’i citizens in various cities and searched their homes and confiscated their personal belongings. According to the reports, security agents in Karaj searched the homes of Kamiar Habibi, Mozaffar Nabili, Bita Momtazi, Pooya Sarraf, Sabin Yazdani, Zhin Akhtarkhavari, Sara Shabanpour, and Nasir Heravi. In addition, after searching the homes of Afif Naimi and Saman Ostovar and confiscating their personal belongings, the agents arrested these two citizens and took them to an unknown place.
Also, in Tehran, the homes of Nima Haghar, Nazila Haghar, Mahvash Shahriari and Fariba Kamalabadi were searched and their personal belongings, including their electronic devices were confiscated. Mahvash Shahriari and Fariba Kamalabadi were afterward arrested and taken to an unknown location.
In the City of Sari, after searching the home of Behrouz Rahmani and Soha Rahmani, the agents arrested them and took them to an unknown location. Navid Misaghi’s home was also searched and his personal belongings were confiscated.
In Shiraz, security forces searched the homes of Raheleh Kishani, Ehsan Jabri and Bahar Bangaleh and confiscated their personal belongings. The security agents intended to arrest Mrs. Kishani, however, due to her poor physical condition and the fact that she had recently undergone surgery, it was not possible for them to transfer her to the detention center.
In Khorasan province, the homes of Hoda Ghiyabi, Shadi Khaseh, Farideh Hedayati, Azadeh Yaghini and Afashaneh Tashakor in the City of Gonbad, and the homes of Shafagh Fahandazh, Afsun Moaddi, Shakib Masoumi, Neda Taefi and Shaghayegh Pourenayati in the City of Gorgan were searched by the security forces and their personal belongings were confiscated.
“Breathing in Confinement” had previously reported the arrest of Afif Naimi, Fariba Kamalabadi and Mahosh Shahriari .
