Five Baha’is summoned to prison

Breathing in Confinement: On Saturday, March 27, through an official notification, Nika Pakzadan, Faraneh Daneshgari, Sanaz Ishaqi, Nakisa Hajipour and Naghmeh Zabihian, five Baha’i citizens living in Mashhad, were summoned to the Judgment Enforcement Unit of Mashhad Prosecutor’s Office to serve their prison sentences. In September last year, they were each sentenced to one year in prison by the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad, and their sentences were later upheld by the Court of Appeals in Khorasan Razavi Province.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Saturday, March 27, 2021, Nika Pakzadan, Faraneh Daneshgari, Sanaz Ishaqi, Nakisa Hajipour, and Naghmeh Zabihian, five Baha’is living in Mashhad, were summoned to serve their sentences.

Earlier, on November 15, 2015 also, Naghmeh Zabihian, Sanaz Ishaqi, Faraneh Daneshgari, Nika Pakzadan, and Nakisa Hajipour had been detained by security agents in Mashhad.

One of them, Naghmeh Zabihian, was also arrested in the winter of 2012 along with a number of other Baha’i citizens for setting up a handicraft exhibition at the home of a Baha’i citizen and by the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad headed by Judge Ghorbani, was sentenced to to six months in prison on charge of propaganda against the regime.
