Mohammad Najafi was sentenced to three years in prison as well as paying a fine

Breathing in Confinement: The lawyer, Mohammad Najafi, was sentenced to three years in prison and paying a fine by the Criminal Court 2 in Arak as well as the  City’s Revolutionary Court.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Mohammad Najafi in a two-part case was sentenced to imprisonment and a paying fine.

In this regard, Mr. Najafi stated: “In Branch 106 of the 2nd Criminal Court in Arak, I was sentenced to two years in prison and to pay a fine of fifteen million tomans on charges of publishing falsehoods. And in the 2nd branch of the Arak Revolutionary Court, I was sentenced to one year in prison on the charge of propagandizing against the regime.”

According to Mr. Najafi, he did not participate in the trial and did not appeal against the issued verdict. He has also not submitted his acceptance of the verdict in any of these two cases.

This lawyer believes that the reason for opening these two case against him is an audio file he sent out of  Arak prison in which her declared his support for the nationwide uprising. He says that this also led to various accusations against his sister and his son.

Mr. Najafi was sent on leave from Arak prison in the last days of last Iranian year (mid March).
