As per the report, Abolhassan Montazer suffers from a skin condition called psoriasis, a disease which must be controlled with medication and chemotherapy, while his medication is not available in prison. And since after the transfer to prison his treatment has been stopped, his physical condition has deteriorated.

In addition, the 60-year-old political prisoner, according to his doctor, needs surgery due to the growth of excess bones on both sides of his neck spine. Mr. Montazer also suffers from kidney stones in both kidneys which need immediate laser surgery.

According to an informed source, in addition to the above-mentioned diseases, “Mr. Montazer also suffers from heart failure with only 35% of his heart muscles are active. The general condition of this political prisoner is reported to be very poor, so that he is often completely lethargic and semi-conscious in prison. Because of his illnesses, he is unable to use prison food, and due to the lack of adequate facilities, it is not possible for him to prepare appropriate food.
