Breathing in Confinement: The Court of Appeals in Mazandaran upheld the prison sentence of Shiva Khalili, a Baha’i citizen living in Babol, as well as confiscation of her cellphone.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the prison sentence of Shiva Khalili, a Baha’i citizen living in Babol, as well as confiscation of her cellphone was upheld by the Court of Appeals in Mazandaran.
The Revolutionary Court in Babol had previously sentenced Shiva Khalili to one year in prison as well as the confiscation of her cellphone as a “crime tool,” on charge of propaganda against the regime under Article 500 of the Islamic Penal Code.
On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, after receiving a telephone summons to Branch 1 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Babol, Shiva Khalili was arrested and released on bail a day later.
