To serve his death sentence, a political prisoner in Sanandaj prison, transferred to solitary confinement

Breathing in Confinement, December 31, 2020: Heiman Mostafaei, a political prisoner sentenced to death in Sanandaj, was transferred to solitary confinement for execution. The political prisoner had received a sentence of 25 years in prison on a charge of “membership in an opposition party” as well as a death sentence for “participating in the murder of a member of Revolutionary Guards.” The sentence has been upheld by the Supreme Court.
According to the Kurdistan Center for Democracy and Human Rights, Heiman Mostafaei, a political prisoner in Sanandaj Central Prison has been transferred to solitary confinement for execution. In 2013, he had been forced and tortured to confess and a documentary based on his forced confessions was aired on Press TV. In the documentary, Hayman Mostafaei, along with “Bayan Kakehi”, “Hiva Dadafarin” and “Khalil Shirzadi”, confessed to being involved in the murder of Ibrahim Mohammadi, a retired member of the Revolutionary Guards. They confessed that on Monday evening, February 25, 2013, they killed Ibrahim Mohammadi in exchange for 300 million tomans from one of the opposition parties.
The Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, condemning the recent executions, calls on all international entities and human rights organizations to take decisive action to prevent the execution of this political prisoner.
