Breathing in Confinement – Zaniar and Loghman Moradi are on hunger strike in the quarantine of Rajai Shahr Prison of Karaj.

According to the reports obtained by Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran (PRLI), the two political prisoners have informed them of their hunger strike in a short prison visit today and warned about the risk of their imminent execution.

Zaniar and Loghman Moradi, two death row political prisoners in Rajai Shahr Prison had been taken out of the ward on September 5, 2018 and told that they were going to meet the Head of the Prison.

One of their relatives told PRLI’s reporter: “Last night somebody from the prison called us and asked us to go there to visit Zaniar and Loghman. We came here today. The visit was short and we realized that they were on hunger strike.”

The political prisoners are on a dry hunger strike meaning that they do not drink water either.

About the risk of execution, this source told PRLI’s reporter: “The prisoner authorities told us ‘we have no information about this. The Intelligence told us to bring them to the quarantine and if they do not take them until 2 p.m. tomorrow we will send them back to the ward.”

These authorities did not make it clear where the Intelligence might “take” these prisoners.

Zaniar and Loghman Moradi’s families are concerned about the risk of their imminent execution.

Meanwhile, there is no information about Ramin Hossein Panahi, other death row Kurdish political prisoner in Rajai Shahr Prison of Karaj.

His family members told that they had no information about his fate.
