Simultaneous arrest of at least 13 Kurdish citizens in different cities

Breathing in Confinement, January 11, 2021: On Saturday, January 9, 2021, two Kurdish students of Kharazmi University in Karaj, who were staying in the university’s dormitory, were arrested by the security forces. Five other Kurdish citizens also were concurrently arrested in the cities of Marivan and Mahabad.

 

According to “Breathing in Confinement “, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Farzad Samani and Suhaib Badrouj, two students of Kharazmi University as well as 5 other citizens named Shapoul Khezri, Darya Talebani, Salar Rahavi, Afshin Mam Ahmadi and Sirvan Nouri were arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

 

As per the report, in addition to these seven citizens, 6 other citizens were also arrested in different cities of Kurdistan.

 

On Saturday, January 9, 2021, the security agents of the Intelligence Office in Bukan, arrested a female activist named “Azimeh Naseri” and transferred her to an unknown location. Security forces in Bukan entered Ms. Naseri’s home under the cover of gas repairmen and took her to an unknown location after searching her home.

 

In addition, at the same time, 5 other citizens named Farhad Musapour, Fereydoun Musapour and Bahman Yousefzad from Sardasht and Karavan Minavi and Dana Samadi from Marivan were also arrested and taken to an unknown location.

 

Farhad Musapour is a student and an English teacher and Bahman Yousefzadeh is a student at Payame Noor University in Mahabad.

 

 

 

The whereabouts of these citizens and the reason for their detention are yet to be known
