Breathing in Confinement, November 24, 2020: Elham Samimi, a student at the University of Tehran, was arrested by security forces.

 

According to the news channel of Iranian students’ union council, on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Elham Samimi, an anthropology student at the University of Tehran, was arrested by security forces.

 

According to the report, before being arrested, Elham Samimi has been frequently interrogated in one of the detention centers of security entities in Evin Prison as well as the safe houses of the security forces on Labbafi Nejad Street in Tehran. Following her refusal to return to the safe house for interrogation, she and her family were threatened by security forces.

 

Finally, being under pressure by security forces, she was arrested on Tuesday, November 24, after appearing at Evin Prison.

 

On Friday, October 16th, security forces raided Ms. Samimi’s home. And after searching her home, the agents confiscated a number of her personal belongings and took them along. Ms. Samimi had been threatened to be summoned and to be approached by the judicial as a security defendant.
