Breathing in Confinement: In only one day (from 07:30 on Thursday, April 15 to 07:30 on Friday, April 16), 84 people attempted suicide in various ways in Tehran, among them about 10 to 12 died.
According to Rokna news agency, 84 people attempted suicide in only one day in Tehran, among them, at least 12 died.
As per the report, the suicide attempts happened from Thursday, April 15, 7:30 a.m. to the same time on Friday, April 17. Among those, 8 were with self-stabbing, 3 with hanging, 15 with a form of intoxication, and 11 specifically with drug poisoning.
According to the report, 58 of the cases were taken to hospital, where at least 10 to 12 died. Fourteen cases refused to be taken to the hospital and the others did not need to be taken to hospital.
One died at the scene and about 74 were rescued.
The report continued: “The suicide methods have become more violent over the past one year, with less drug poisoning and more firearms and jumping from the heights.
