Breathing in Confinement: One month after his transfer to Rajaei Shahr Prison, the political prisoner Farzin Rezaei Roshan, was transferred to political ward. On Monday, May 10, Mr. Rezaei Roshan was taken out of Evin Prison under the pretext of being transferred to the hospital. He instead, was transferred to one of the solitary confinement cells in Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj.
According to Breathing in Confinement the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a month after being transferred to the quarantine ward of Rajaei Shahr Prison, the political prisoner Farzin Rezaei Roshan, was transferred to the political ward of this Prison.
Farzin Rezaei Roshan had been arrested in June 2017 by IRGC intelligence agents and transferred to Ward 2A of Evin Prison from where, he was released on bail after 8 days, awaiting the court’s decision. Later, in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Mashallah Ahmadzadeh, he was sentenced to four years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime as well as gathering and colluding against national security.”
He was finally arrested in March 2020 and transferred to Evin Prison to serve his sentence.
Farzin Rezaei Roshan suffers from panic attack and has been subjected to psychological harassment in Evin Prison. Before being deported to Rajaei Shahr Prison, he had been transferred to Aminabad Psychiatric Hospital for two days and afterward was sent to Rajaei Shahr Prison.
As per the information received by “Breathing in Confinement”, Mr. Rezaei-Roshan is not in a good mental condition and is in need of medical care.
