Breathing in Confinement: Farzin Rezaei Roshan, a political prisoner who had been deported to Rajaei Shahr Prison where he was being held in solitary confinement, was transferred to Aminabad Psychiatric Hospital.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in recent days, political prisoner Farzin Rezaei Roshan was transferred from a solitary confinement cell in Rajaei Shahr Prison to Aminabad Psychiatric Hospital.
On Monday, May 10, 2021, under the pretext of being transferred to a hospital, Mr. Rezaei Roshan was deported from Evin Prison to Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj.
In June 2017, Farzin Rezaei Roshan was arrested by IRGC intelligence agents and transferred to the IRGC’s detention center known as Ward 2A of Evin Prison, from where 8 days later, he was temporarily released on bail awaiting the court’s decision.
After an unfair trial in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran presided over by Judge Mashallah Ahmadzadeh, he was sentenced to 4 years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime as well as gathering and colluding against national security.” And after the verdict was upheld by the Court of Appeal, he was arrested again in March 2020 and transferred to Evin Prison to serve his sentence.
