Student activist Hasti Amiri sentenced to one year in prison

Breathing in Confinement: The student activist, Hasti Amiri was sentenced by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran to one year in prison as well as some additional punishments.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Hasti Amiri, a student at Allameh Tabatabai University, was sentenced to one year in prison for propaganda against the regime and a ban from participating in student gatherings except in the classroom for studying.
Ms. Amiri’s lawyer, Amir Raisian, tweeted on Monday, March 14 that the evidence against Ms. Amiri included a picture of her on March 8 (International Women’s Day) last year, and her objections to the death penalty on Twitter.
According to Ms. Amiri’s lawyer, her additional punishments include confiscating her cellphone as well as banning her from joining political and social parties, groups, and factions (even in social media) for two years.
It should be noted that Ms. Amiri has been acquitted of gathering and colluding to disrupt national security.
