Breathing in Confinement – Said Matinpour, the imprisoned journalist left the Evin prison for 3 days after 5 years of custody.
According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, the Azeri political prisoner has been imprisoned since July 11, 2009 and was allowed to leave Evin prison for 3 days since today, July 27th.
Said Matinpour had been arrested on May 25, 2007 in Zanjan and then transferred to ward 209 of Evin prison in Tehran. He was released on the bail of 5 billion Rilas after 278 days.
Said Matinpour was sentenced to 7 years in prison on charge of having contact with foreign countries and 1 year in prison on charge of spreading propaganda against the regime by branch 15 of the revolutionary court of Tehran.
He was summoned to the court by judge Salavati on July 11, 2009. There he was arrested and taken to Evin prison to serve the sentence.
Said Matinpour has been a member of editorial board of “Yarpagh” and “Moj-e-Bidari” publications. He was a blogger and civil activist and has been faced the mentioned allegations because of his articles.
He is suffering from digestive diseases and chronic headache and backache and has had no leave so far.
Said MAtinpour was one of the prisoners who were bitten during the raid of the guards in the ward 350 of Evin prison. He was taken to the solitary confinements of ward 240 and was on hunger strike for 2 weeks there.
