13 Executions Carried Out in 3 Cities this Morning

Breathing in Confinement – 13 prisoners were executed in different cities in Iran. One of these executions was done in the public in Mashhad.
According to Rokna News Agency, a prisoner who was charged with murder of a jeweler in Mashhad was hanged in public near the scene, on May 17, and his accomplice has been sentenced to long term imprisonment.
According to the report, the sentence was executed in the Mofateh square, end of “Tollab Street” in Mashad, at 7 am.
HRANA News Agency also has announced the news of the execution of six prisoners accused of drug-related crime in Uremia prison.
According to this report, six death row inmates with drug related charges from ward 15 of Uremia Central Prison were hanged.
The identities of these prisoners who were all taken to the gallows from ward 15 have been announced as:
- Naji Keivan, Kurdish citizen of Urmia
- Nader Mohammadi, Kurdish citizen of Urmia
- Ali Shamogardian, Kurdish citizen of Urmia
- Aziz Noori Azar, Azerbaijani citizen of Urmia
- Freidon Rashidi, Kurdish citizen of Urmia
- Heidar Amini, Kurdish citizen of Salmas
In another report, the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Yazd reported that three prisoners charged with drug-related offenses, a prisoner for armed robbery and two other prisoners on charge of rape were all hanged.
The Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Yazd announced the news and said: “One of the executed men named “CH – R”, in recent years carried out 14 armed robberies in several banks and loan funds and had been detained and then by Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Yazd sentenced to death.”
He added: “Another of those executed was “A – S”, who in addition to rape, was charged with harassment of women and honor of the people, and was sentenced to death by the penal court and the sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court.”
Yazd prosecutor stated that “A – B” also attempted to rape a juvenile girl.
Mr. Ghezavati also said: “Three of those executed were also charged with drugs related crimes”.
