Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Sunday, May 22, 2022, the death sentence of a prisoner convicted of murder was carried out in Shirvan Prison in North Khorasan Province.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Sunday, May 22, 2022, a prisoner was executed in Shirvan Prison for murder.
The prisoner has been identified as Mohammad Morad Fazeli, 33 years old.
“Mohammad Murad Fazeli, 33, father of 2, had been accused of murder in a dispute over agricultural land in 2016 and had been since in prison,” said an informed source.
According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 383 prisoners were executed during the past Persian year (March 20, 2021- March 20, 2022) of whom only 34 were announced by the state media, and the rest were carried out in secret.
