A young woman is executed in Mashhad prison for killing her two children in the hopelessness of poverty

Breathing in Confinement: On October 11, 2020, a woman who in loneliness and poverty, had killed her two children, aged 4 and 8, was executed in Mashhad prison.
According to Rokna News Agency, “Razieh”, an unfortunate and lonely woman, under the economic and social pressures, after being separated from her second husband, Killed her two children, out of inability to take care of them.
The 33-year-old woman killed her 4- and 8-year-old children at midnight on February 12, 2017. The woman then sent two text messages to her sister saying: “I was not a good sister to you, forgive me…” and “Tell my father not to leave our bodies on the ground.” She then sat next to her children’s body after cutting her forearm in order to take her own life. She however, was taken to the hospital by her sister and survived.
The case was heard in Branch 5 of the Criminal Court of Khorasan Razavi, presided over by Judge Bandehi and in the presence of Judge Shojapour Fadaki as an adviser. Finally, the judges voted for retribution against the 33-year-old woman. And at dawn on October 11, 2020, at the age of 37, the young woman was hanged in Mashhad Central Prison.
Rokna, the state-run news agency, in the most despicable possible way, describes this extremely sad event as: “A woman who in a mad act killed her two children, aged 4 and 8, but lacked the courage to take her own life, was executed in Mashhad Central Prison. Thus, the tragic crime ended in the gallows rope.”
Rokna News Agency has not mentioned who was the blood owner in this case, the addicted father of 8-year-old Tahereh, or the 62-year-old father of 4-year-old Alireza, who divorced the child’s mother and left her alone in poverty and misery for insisting on taking custody of her daughter.
