Breathing in confinement – December 10, a prisoner sentenced to death for murder, was executed in Mashhad prison.
According to Khorasan daily, at dawn on Tuesday, December 10, an inmate was executed in Mashhad prison. “Based on preliminary investigations, at 19:50, April 13, 2017, on Hor 13 Street, three young motorcyclists shot a hairdresser’s customer. A few minutes later, when the 21-year-old victim ‘Mojtaba-Gh’, was confirmed dead at Hasheminejad Medical Center, a criminal case was filed.” Khorasan reported.
Afterward, the 28-year-old Naeim was arrested. He said: “For two years an old grudge had arisen between us and the victim and his brother over ‘an evil stare’. Afterward ‘just for a stare’ our conflict started which led to several times of beatings and even shooting.”
The two fugitive defendants of 27 and 25 years old, Habib and Rahim, were also arrested.
According to the report, following the completion of investigations at Mashhad Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office and after replaying the crime scene, the criminal case was referred to Khorasan Razavi Criminal Court- Branch 5, and three defendants stood trial. In the court, hearings presided over by Judge Mustafa Bandi with the assistance of Judge Mohammad Shoja Pourfadaki, “Naeem-N” pleaded guilty of murder. Finally, the first defendant was sentenced to death for murder and the other two, in connection with this criminal case received long prison terms. The defendant’s lawyer, however, appealed the verdict and the case was referred to the Supreme Court for further review.
Eventually, the judges of Branch 4 of Supreme Court upheld the verdict and on Tuesday morning, December 10, “Naeem-N” went to the gallows in Mashhad Central Prison in the presence of Public and Revolutionary Prosecutors and other relevant officials.
