Breathing in Confinement: After being held in prison for 17 years, the political prisoner Mustafa Salimi, who had been transferred to solitary confinement since yesterday, was executed on Saturday morning, April 11, 2020.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Mustafa Salimi, a political prisoner who managed to escape the jail during the riot in Saqqez prison, was re-arrested and executed.
The execution was carried out despite the call from many human rights groups and UN rapporteurs for the release of prisoners and in particular political prisoners amid the covid-19 catastrophe. However, not only the authorities of the Islamic Republic have not taken any relevant action so far, but the situation in prisons has become much more difficult for the inmates.
Last night in a report, “Breathing in Confinement” had warned against the imminent execution of this Kurdish political prisoner.
