Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the death sentences of at least five prisoners, who had been arrested and sentenced to execution on charges of “murder,” were carried out in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, five prisoners were executed early Wednesday morning, January 29, in Shiraz Central Prison for charges of “murder.” The identities of these prisoners have been confirmed as Mohammad Ali Heidari, Amir Fanaei, Hamid Fanaei, Rasoul Minaei, and Khosrow Abbaszadeh.
As reported by a correspondent for Breathing in Confinement, Hamid Fanaei, 42, and Amir Fanaei, 36, two brothers and sons of Asghar, were residents of Marvdasht. They had been arrested five years ago in a joint case on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. Mohammad Ali Heidari, 24, a resident of Shiraz, had been arrested two years ago in a separate case on charges of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to execution. The other two prisoners, Rasoul Minaei, 33, and Khosrow Abbaszadeh, 35, both from Babol and related by family, had been arrested four years ago in a joint case on charges of “murdering a woman during a burglary” and sentenced to death.
The executions were carried out at dawn on Wednesday, January 29, in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
