Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Saturday, December 7, the death sentences of at least two prisoners previously convicted on charges of “murder” were carried out in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan. Another prisoner was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for execution.
According to Breathing in Confinement, citing the human rights organization Hengaw, the identities of the executed prisoners were confirmed as Ashkan Fathi and Jaber Ansari. The third prisoner, was moved to solitary confinement in anticipation of his execution. This prisoner has been identified by Breathing in Confinement as Morteza Ghasemi,
The report indicates that Ashkan Fathi and Jaber Ansari had been convicted in separate cases of “murder” and sentenced to death. Their sentences were carried out at dawn on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.
