Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Wednesday, December 4, the execution of a prisoner previously convicted of “murder” was carried out in Miandoab Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the execution of a prisoner convicted of “murder” took place in Miandoab Prison at dawn on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Sina Shamsollahi, the 41-year-old son of Gheiabali, from the village of Sharifloo.
According to Breathing in Confinement reporter citing an informed source, after Sina Shamsollahi’s brother was killed in a conflict, Sina became involved in a dispute with an individual named Mehrdad Abbasi over the matter. During this altercation, Mehrdad Abbasi was killed. Sina Shamsollahi was arrested a year and five months ago on charges of murder and was later sentenced to death in court. The victim’s family refused to pardon Sina, and he was executed at dawn on Wednesday, December 4, in Miandoab Prison.
