Clinic authorities refuse to accept Reza Shahabi

Breathing in Confinement – Reza Shahabi was transferred to Rajai Shahr prison’s Clinic as he passed out on day 31st of his hunger strike.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, the board member of the Syndicate of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company went on hunger strike from first of June after being exiled from ward 350 of Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.

Regarding his condition, an informed source who was not willing to give his name said to the reporter of “Breathing in Confinement”: “Today afternoon Reza Shahabi passed out because of hunger strike and noise waves that got worse from several days ago and he was transferred to Prison’s Clinic by Shahrokh Zamani and several other cellmates.”

Regarding the clinic staff behaviour, he added: “When Shahrokh Zmani asked the clinic authorities to inject a serum to Reza Shahabi, they said we are not going to give any treatment unless he stops his hunger strike, then, this caused verbal clash between prisoners and clinic authorities.”

Finally, this informed source stated: “Eventually Reza Shahabi was returned to the ward by his cellmates but his condition is still critical and he cannot stand without others help.”

Reza Shahabi, board member of the Syndicate of Tehran andSuburbs Bus Company, is sentenced to 4 years Imprisonment, 5 years ban on Tread Union activities and 7 million Rail’s fine.
